Rachel attended the University of Metaphysical Science and finished her PhD in Metaphysical Holistic Life Coaching. “At a young age, as a mother with a successful career, I met a major setback in my health. After going to physicians and specialists and test after test to find out what was going on, I was finally diagnosed with a Strep-G virus that had turned into rheumatic fever with a rheumatoid arthritis count off the charts. For those of you unaware, rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that causes chronic joint inflammation, which has symptoms that include stiffness, fever, muscle and joint aches, loss of appetite, and fatigue. At the time, I was unable to go up and down stairs or carry my children.

The treatment of rheumatoid arthritis incorporates the use of first-line drugs (aspirin and corticosteroids for pain and inflammation) and second-line drugs (methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine to prevent joint destruction and promote remission). Basically, I was told that I would be on a high dosage of antibiotics for months and would need to come in once a month for the rest of my life for shots to manage the arthritis – that was not good enough for me! I refused to be incapacitated – not at that crucial time in my life – and anyone that knows me knows that I am a very determined person.

Thus my path led me on an alternative medicine search and to naturopathic MD Pamela Taylor. Under her care, I fully regained my life, my health, and gained a new found look at what I was putting into my body. The road wasn’t easy, of course, but from that point on my life and habits would never be the same again.

So, here I am. I have taken my zest for life, and knowledge of business and marketing and research, and intertwined it with my new life’s passion for health and well being and created Soul Service.”
